DESCRIPTION:Free\nOn Thursday\, March 28th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm\, Helms Bakery District is pleased to present Interactions\, by Kayla Sweet-Newhouse\, a solo exhibition of sculpture and multimedia photomontages that leap from the wall. \nIn Interactions\, Sweet-Newhouse explores the existential tensions between the fragility of life and the hard context in which it is conceived and must survive. Because of daunting odds\, ineffable beauty requires courage and determination to prevail today. Lush and delicate porcelain pieces express the defiant spirit necessary to thrive. \nAn Artist Meet & Greet will be held on Saturday\, April 6th from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. \nThe exhibition will be on display through April 11\, 2019. \nAbout the Artist\nBorn in New York City\, Kayla Sweet-Newhouse is a dedicated artist working primarily with ceramics and photography.  Her sculpture is informed by world travels and multiple fields of study\, from animal biology to the art and culture of ancient peoples. She currently lives and works in Venice\, Inglewood\, and Paris.
