In the latest chapter of Sidewalk Stories, craft is in the details and craftsmanship is what brings our campus to life. At Helms Design District, this is more than a philosophy. It’s a way of life. From the expertly brewed beer at Father’s Office to the thoughtfully designed furniture and fixtures across the district, attention to detail and a passion for quality define everything you’ll find here.
The Craft Behind the Bar
Step into Father’s Office, and you’re immediately enveloped in a world where craft beer isn’t just a beverage, it’s a culture. With an ever-rotating lineup of thoughtfully selected brews, this iconic gastropub celebrates brewers who pour their heart into every batch. Here, the craft of beer is a celebration of creativity, tradition, and community and a perfect counterpart to the artisanal spirit found throughout Helms.
Craftsmanship Beyond the Bar
But Helms isn’t just about great food and drink. It’s where you find pieces of art disguised as furniture, lighting designed with purpose and personality, and rugs and hardware that tell their own stories. Each showroom celebrates the work of artisans and designers who refuse to settle for ordinary. This is a place where craft meets creativity in every corner, inspiring visitors to dream bigger and live more beautifully.

More Than a Destination. A Community of Craft
From the first sip to the last design detail, Helms Design District invites you to experience craftsmanship that’s authentic, bold, and endlessly inspiring. So come for the craft, whether it’s a world-class beer or a beautifully artisan-made chair, and stay for the everything else that makes this district a design lover’s dream.
This installment, illustrated by longtime Helms tenant Nancy Nimoy, celebrates the dedication, creativity, and care woven into every detail. At Helms, craftsmanship is just the starting point; the true magic is in the vibrant community and endless inspiration that surrounds it.
