On Saturday, October 8th from 4 to 6PM, Arcana: Books on the Arts and The Photographic Arts Council/LA invite you to a book signing with Anthony Hernandez, in conversation with artist Thomas Demand.
We are excited to announce our newest partnership with The New Urbanism Film Festival (NUFF), an organization concerned with how we design our cities and the effect on residents living and working in those cities. "Safe sidewalks and open spaces encourage healthy lifestyle habits for ourselves and our community." Well NUFF kicks off their fourth season today, with a series of screenings, tours, discussions, and events throughout the city, ending with closing night awards and festivities on October 9th at Helms Design Center.
On Thursday, October 13th from 5 to 7PM, please join Arcana: Books on the Arts and KMWstudio for an L.A.-centric conversation between Paul Ruscha and photographer Lloyd Ziff to celebrate the publication of the lovely New York / Los Angeles, Photographs: 1967-2015. The discussion will be followed by a book signing.
On Saturday, October 15th from 4 to 6PM, please join Arcana: Books on the Arts as they welcome The LA Forum for Architecture and Urban Design in partnership with Verso Books to present a conversation about the history of the US / Mexico border and the militarization of border walls around the world on the occasion of the launch of Reece Jones’ Violent Borders: Refugees and the Right to Move. Jones, an expert on international border security projects and a geographer at the University of Hawaii, will discuss his book with architect Rene Peralta.

Dedicated to helping families and individuals transition out of homelessness and poverty, LAFH offers a range of housing opportunities enriched with supportive services.
