  • Textile Slam! Has Shifted Gears With a Fun Online Experience

    On Tuesday, June 23rd at 7:00 PM, please join Textile Arts LA for Textile Slam! Textile Arts has transitioned their popular Textile Slam! into an online experience. Please join them for a series of six-minute presentations from artists, curators, and friends. Until we are able to host them again in the Helms Design Center, enjoy "facetime" with old and new friends while hearing (and seeing!) from LA's textile-artist-creative community.

  • POSTPONED – Join Textile Arts for a Hands-On Workshop: The Art of Spinning

    On Sunday, March 15th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, please join Textile Arts Los Angeles and local fiber artist and spinning expert Anna Zinsmeister  for The Art of Spinning, a hands-on experience spinning Karakul sheep wool sourced from a ranch in the northern edge of Los Angeles County. We’ll discuss the method and challenges of processing fleece into spin-able material, practice spinning with a hand spindle, and learn a bit about the various types of wool fibers and their uses.

    On Saturday and Sunday, March 14th and 15th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, please join us in hosting Textile Arts LA's Carrie Burckle for a weekend-long screen printing workshop where you’ll explore chance and improvisation as playful strategies incorporating collage, stamping, cut outs, and painting for designing prints.
