Projecting Possibilities, a digital public art project launched during the pandemic, continues to showcase local artists and to celebrate our rich, creative community. Helms Design District, in partnership with Culver Arts, will feature a new artist each month, projecting their artwork street-side on the entry doors to the Helms Design Center located at 8745 Washington Boulevard in Culver City. With easy community viewing, this outdoor gallery’s projections can be viewed from 8:00 pm until 2:00 am. Maria Kurtz is the Culver Arts grant recipient for the month of June.
ABOUT MARIA
Born and raised in Italy, Maria Kurtz developed her artistic perspective surrounded by a culture deeply rooted in art and design. After obtaining an art degree and experimenting across multiple mediums, Maria ultimately found her voice through oil painting.
Today, the landscapes and light of coastal California serve as an ongoing source of inspiration for her work. Through her paintings, Maria seeks to capture the stillness, beauty, and restorative qualities of nature—reflecting her belief that “nature is a blessing.”
